Directors, Committees and Delegations
Board of directors
The Board of Directors is an active group of 13-members that manage the operations of the Chamber of Commerce. The members of the board meet annually 9-11 times a year.
The advocacy work is carried out in the seven Committees of the Chamber of Commerce, which include 120 experts in their field from member firms. Stakeholders in the Chamber of Commerce are key players. The views of industry gathered in the committees are passed on to municipalities, provincial and state decision-makers and authorities.
The committees gather 3-4 times a year. Each meeting has its own theme. In addition, almost without exception, the meetings are hosted by a local company or organizations. Committees also serve as a platform for business-to-business networking and cooperation, for example between companies in a particular industry or a group of professionals.
The committees are subject to annual voting and selection on Autumn during a meeting.
The delegation consists of 30 representatives from our member companies. Selections are made every 3 years in conjunction with the Autumn Meeting. The mission of the delegation shall be to:
- Decide on the number of Board members and to select the Chairman and Vice Chairman
- Prepare the Chamber of Commerce's action plan and budget
- Set up committees for the preparation of cases
- Decide on the issues raised by the Chamber of Commerce and to give instruction to the board members on matters of outstanding importance
